Thank You to the Porters of Saint Joseph
I thank those who signed up to join the Porters of St. Joseph Ministry last weekend. We currently have over 23 sign ups and hope to have more join the ministry soon. My special thanks to Greg Bedell for his willingness to help us lead this ministry. Thank you all for stepping up to serve in the Porters of St. Joseph ministry and protect our parish families. An introductory meeting and orientation has been scheduled for Saturday March 23rd from 9am-12:30pm in the parish meeting room (Annex 1).
Parish Strategic Plan
I am glad to inform you that the draft of our Parish Strategic Plan, which we started working on last November, is now ready for further review by the Strategic Plan Committee. In addition to reviewing the Plan, the Committee will also develop a RoadMap and measurable benchmarks for the implementation of the Plan. I thank the members of the Committee for their willingness to help us finetune our Plan for the future of our parish community. My special thanks to Brian Wiscombe for accepting my invitation to lead the Strategic Plan Committee. The Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday March 20th at 6:30pm in the parish meeting room (Annex 1).
Lenten Parish Retreat
Just a last reminder that our Parish Lenten Retreat is coming up tomorrow from 9am to 4pm at the St. John Bosco Multipurpose Room (MPR). Lunch will be provided. We welcome Fr. Clement Attah, VC to our parish as he comes to direct our retreat: “The Message of the Cross.”
I thank those who have RSVP already. Please come, even if you forgot to RSVP. We will accept “at the door” registration. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us, especially given that we have not had a Parish Retreat for the past three years as a result of COVID-19 and our Church construction. I look forward to seeing you there tomorrow.
Lenten Penance Service
I would like to remind everyone that our Parish Lenten Penance Service is coming up on Monday, March 18th, at 7pm in the Church. We are expecting about 10 priests from our neighboring parishes to come and hear Confessions. We will begin with a brief Communal Penitential Service, followed by individual Confessions. Please come and join us and we reconcile with God, purify ourselves and get ready for the Holy Week and Easter celebration.
Thank you for the Rummage Sale
We had a very successful Rummage Sale last Saturday. The final figures are not in yet as we are still waiting for some payments as well as the invoice for the containers. Estimated net income is $11,000. The final figure will be communicated soon. I would like to especially thank Denny and Gayle Stewart for their hard work and commitment in planning and organizing the event. Thank you to Anita Buckel for spending so much time organizing the containers and sorting the items. To the many volunteers who spent countless hours collecting, organizing, setting up, feeding volunteers and helping sell the items to bring this event together, thank you! To everyone that supported by donating and to all who purchased items, thank you! This was a truly special community event and I cannot thank you all enough for your continued support.
