An Invitation
Hello St. Mark the Evangelist parishioners!
My name is John Regent, and I am the Adult Choir Director here at St. Mark the Evangelist. This is the first of a series of notes letting you know what's going on in the Music Ministry, and inviting you to join us for upcoming liturgies and concerts.
As we move from Ordinary Time into Advent in preparation for Christmas, the choirs are eagerly readying for the Masses celebrating Christ the King, Immaculate Conception, and of course, Advent Sundays. On Christmas Eve, we invite you to join us for a Christmas Concert at 3pm in the church, complete with a stunning string quartet. The concert will weave traditional Gregorian chant with pieces written and arranged by our own pianist, Russell Ronnebaum, as well as favorites for your families to join in the singing!
Following the concert, the Children's, Young Adult and Adult choirs will join with the string quartet for the 4pm Vigil Mass. Later that night, our Teen Choir will lead the music for Christmas Mass at Midnight. On Christmas Day, our excellent staff and volunteer Cantors and Psalmists will lead the community in song at our regularly scheduled Mass times.
If you are interested in joining your Music Ministry, even if only for the joy of singing for the celebration of the birth of Christ, now would be a perfect time to reserve your seat in the front of the church! No musical experience is necessary, just a willingness to add your voice!
Our regular Adult Choir rehearsals are held at 7pm every Wednesday in the Church, and our Christmas rehearsals will begin the week after Thanksgiving.
Please let me know if you have any questions - feel free to talk to me after the 5pm and 11:30am Masses or drop me a line at

Thanks!
