Brothers & Sisters,

Tomorrow we start the Triduum (Latin for "Three Days), as our final preparation for the celebration on Easter Sunday of our Lord's Resurrection. Please make an effort to participate in the liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday Mass. Personally invite others to join you, especially those who have not been to Mass in some time, and those who have no church home.

Please know that our parish office will be closed on Holy Thursday, (March 28), Good Friday (March 29), and Easter Monday (April 1). The St. Scholastica Chapel will be closed on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. It will reopen at the usual time on Easter Monday.

If you are planning on traveling this weekend to celebrate Easter elsewhere, then a safe journey to you. Allow to me wish you an early Happy Easter!

Congratulations to Faith Poff, who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil Mass. She will also receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

 

An International Exhibition of the Eucharistic Miracles of the World will be on display at our parish on Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This display of Eucharistic Miracles was designed and created by Blessed Carlo Acutis.

 

On Thursday, April 4, Michael Dewayne Smith is scheduled to be executed for the Oklahoma County 2002 murders of Janet Moore and Sharath Pulluru. In peaceful opposition to the death penalty, a prayer vigil will be held near the front gate of the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester starting at 9:00 AM. Prayers will be offered by Moore, Pulluru, Smith, their families, and the correction officers participating in the execution. Those not able to travel to McAlester are welcome to pray in the St. Scholastica Chapel that day for this intention.
