Many thanks to all who helped with the Triduum and Easter celebrations! We are so blessed to have volunteers and staff who serve and make these holiest of days sacred and beautiful.
There is a second collection this weekend for the Contingency Fund.

Eucharistic Etiquette
A Few Do’s and Don’ts to Prevent Mass Confusion
A weekly series focusing on the Mass
- Sundays and other holy days of obligation (Code of Canon Law, 1247), unless “excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their own pastor” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2181).
- This is binding on all baptized Catholics over the age of seven who “possess the efficient use of reason” (Code of Canon Law, 11).
- It’s not only an obligation but a medicine for healing. “The Eucharist strengthens our charity, which tends to be weakened in daily life; and this living charity wipes away venial sins” (CCC 1394).
- In addition to attending Mass, Catholics must receive the Eucharist at least once a year (Code of Canon Law, 921).
- If you are conscious of mortal sin, do not receive the Eucharist—but do come to Mass! It will give you the strength to be reunited with God and leave your sin behind.

What is Divine Mercy Sunday?
In a series of revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, our Lord called for a special feast day to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Today, we know that feast as Divine Mercy Sunday, named by Pope St. John Paul II at the canonization of St. Faustina on April 30, 2000.
To prepare for this year's Divine Mercy, Sunday, April 7th
- Celebrate the Feast on April 7th
- Sincerely repent of all our sins;
- Place our complete trust in Jesus;
- Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday
- Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast;
- Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy in the Commons or the Chapel
- Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and prayers behalf:
- Pray the Novena beginning Good Friday, March 29th

Youth
Saturday 06-22-2024 - Friday 06-28-2024
The Diocesan Work Camp is a weeklong camp experience for high school youth to serve our brothers and sisters in need by making their homes safer, warmer, drier, and greener while also having the opportunity to grow in our Catholic faith.
Work Camp is not just a youth event. It is an opportunity for parishes to make a difference in the lives of those in need right here in our diocese while encouraging youth to answer their baptismal call to serve others. It is a transformative experience in the life of the adults who assist as well, whether as a volunteer, contractor, or chaperone.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
