PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS
ADORATION OF THE DIVINE MERCY
Please join us Sunday, April 7th 3-3:30pm for the
Adoration of the Divine Mercy.
“My Daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the First Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy” (Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska)
In the 1930’s Our Lord Jesus Christ chose St. Faustina to receive His Revelations concerning Divine Mercy which she had taken down in her diary. Pope St John Paul writes, “This was precisely the time when the ideologies of evil, Nazism and Communism were taking shape. St. Faustina became the herald of the message capable of off-setting the evil of these ideologies, with the fact that God is Mercy, the truth of the merciful Christ.”
My brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the feast of the Divine Mercy this Sunday, April 16, we are called to once again cherish the message of the Divine Mercy, which is God loves us. He wants us to recognize and believe that His Mercy is greater than our sins. Sr. Faustina was the chosen instrument to proclaim anew His infinite Love and Mercy. Pope Francis tells us about the inexhaustible mercy of God as “Mercy is the heart of God.”
“I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart.” (Diary of St. Faustina)
Pope Francis continues, ‘Mercy is the force that reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look to the future with Hope.’
Let me invite everyone of you to immerse oneself in the ocean of the Divine Mercy of the Lord and be filled with His grace.
I take this opportunity to thank one and all for your kindness and cooperation during the Holy Week. God Bless.
