The Diocese of Raleigh's Office of Evangelization and Discipleship is accepting applicants for its paid internship program, to help promote the important work of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) and to offer experience working with and on behalf of those in poverty.
Those with good writing abilities and an interest in Catholic social justice are encouraged to apply.
The internship will provide practical work in carrying out the mandate of CCHD, opportunities to develop relationships with community leaders, reflection on Catholic social teaching, and opportunities for sharing the Gospel.
The internship is paid at the rate of $15/hour and requires up to 15 hours/week, to be completed during the 12 weeks per semester or 24 weeks over the entire school year, from August 2024 to April 2025. Participants also will be required to attend in person orientation (paid for by the USCCB) in Washington, DC, from May 29-31, 2024.
The Intern will be given a computer, and most of the work can be conducted from home, but office space in Raleigh is available for those who would benefit from this option.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with CCHD grant reviews and site visits.
- Promote CCHD through media (produce videos, write articles).
- Assist with CCHD outreach to parishes and communities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum level of Education: HS diploma or GED
- Must satisfactorily complete required criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete the Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Passionate about communicating the Gospel with missionary zeal
- Disciple with Parish experience.
