A few upcoming events that you may want to consider around the diocese.
Man and Woman He Created Them: A Theology of the Body is the title given to St. John Paul II’s masterpiece of 129 audiences that he gave in the beginning of his papacy. The philosophical foundations of the human person, of what and who we are, can be found in these glorious pages and provide answers to many of the ‘hot button’ questions about human identity that are being debated in today’s culture. We will explore an introduction to this in the Wonderfully Made retreat for young adults on April 19-20th, so join us, young adults, if you can!
A few of the concepts that we will explore of this theology are: examining the ‘givenness’ of the body, its spousal meaning & call to love, how we are related to God and reflect his image through our bodies, how we are our bodies (body and soul harmony), and how our bodies speak a language of which we are not the author. We are invited to listen, observe, and learn the language that our bodies speak and choose to live in accord with that language or not. Through this theology, we will see the Gospel proclamation and the redemption that can be lived in the body and through the gift of ourselves in love.
