Is it too soon for that title?

Dear Friends,
Easter is over. Now we are done. We can just forget about everything we had aspired to during Lent and call it a day. Right? I know that’s what some people think or even if they don’t think it, this is what happens. The reality is, Easter is not over. We are not done. Years ago when they aired the Bible series on TV. I can remember that scene after Christ’s death and they showed the empty tomb, but we are also reminded that this is not the end.
For us, for all His people, we celebrated Easter. We are reminded of Christ’s death and resurrection. We have the institution of the Eucharist, the call to priestly service and service to all of God’s children. This is what Easter reminds us of. It is more than just Lent and Easter Sunday. It is a time to not only reconnect in our faith, but also hear that call that has been placed on our hearts.
Without digging through the archive of written letter’s, I can’t be 100% certain of this, but I am pretty sure I have mentioned the fact that, every single week when we celebrate mass, we celebrate the Eucharist. We are reminded of Christ’s passion. Some refer to this as “mini-Easters.” I have referred to it as such as well. We cannot forget the importance of each mass we attend. It is why we keep holy the Sabbath because each time we come to mass, we have the opportunity to hear His word and receive the Eucharist.
Let today be that reminder of why we show up on a weekly basis. Let today be that reminder that each time we come to our parish; we have the chance to celebrate the Eucharist. More than that, each time we come it is an EASTER Sunday. Sure, we can still call it a mini-Easter if that sits better with us. However, each Sunday is just as important for us. We just need to be reminded of this. Maybe, we don’t need to be reminded of this, but we can remind others if they ask.
God Bless,
Fr. Brian
P.S. I feel like I should make a second earthquake joke, but I wouldn't do that.
Why is spring a good time to get into good habits? It’s the perfect time to turn over a new leaf.
