Parishioner, Yolanda Bowman was born into life eternal on March 27. There will be a Mass of Resurrection at Holy Cross tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10th at 1:00pm followed by a reception.

A Few Do’s and Don’ts to Prevent Mass Confusion
A weekly series focusing on the Mass
How Long Should I Fast Before Mass?
Current parameters of the eucharistic fast (Code of Canon Law, 919):
- Abstain from food and drink for at least 1 hour before receiving communion.
- Water and medicine (including cough drops, or food for a diabetic whose blood sugar is crashing) do not break the fast.
- Those who are “advanced in age” (60+) or “suffer from any infirmity,” as well as those who take care of them, can receive even if they have eaten something in the previous hour.
Note: Chewing gum is not food and thus does not break the fast but please dispose of it properly before entering church for Mass.

Lyme Disease and Alpha Gal are one of the top ten diseases seen in the Lynchburg region. It is very specific to our area, in fact many physicians in the Roanoke region rarely see this. Come learn more about these tick born diseases, how to avoid them and what treatments are available.
Our guest speaker is Tiffany Covarrubias-Little, BSN RN PCCN. She is the Patient Education, Nurse Wellness Coordinator and Admissions, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) Manager at Centra.

Youth
Saturday 06-22-2024 - Friday 06-28-2024
The Diocesan Work Camp is a weeklong camp experience for high school youth to serve our brothers and sisters in need by making their homes safer, warmer, drier, and greener while also having the opportunity to grow in our Catholic faith.
Work Camp is not just a youth event. It is an opportunity for parishes to make a difference in the lives of those in need right here in our diocese while encouraging youth to answer their baptismal call to serve others. It is a transformative experience in the life of the adults who assist as well, whether as a volunteer, contractor, or chaperone.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
