New – Action Alert! Call Your State Senator for a NO Vote on Expansion of Assisted Suicide

In 2015, California legalized assisted suicide for adults with illnesses of 6 months or less to live. Now, a Senator is pushing a bill to allow all chronically ill Californians to receive assisted suicide, as well as people with dementia. SB 1196 (Blakespear, D-Oceanside) would expand the End of Life Option Act to non-terminally ill people, would allow life-ending drugs to be administered through IV, would allow early and mid-stage dementia patients access to life-ending drugs, would remove the state residency requirements to obtain life-ending drugs, would remove the 48-hour waiting period between the first and second requests for life-ending drugs, and would remove the sunset provision of the End of Life Option Act.

Come see the Vatican's International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles of the World and the Shroud of Turin! The parish has selected for exhibition approximately half of the 137 Eucharistic miracles (152 panels) approved by the Church. The Shroud of Turin is a Passion Exhibit that includes Scriptural references, history of the relics, and the results of scientific studies.

ADSF Mandatory Workplace Violence Prevention Training at St. Mary Cathedral for Schools and Parishes

The Archdiocese of San Francisco is hosting mandatory in-person training workshop for both schools and parishes. The Archdiocese invites each school and parish representative to participate in this one-day Workplace Violence Prevention Program (SB-553) and crisis response training to help increase awareness, manage compliance and help improve the overall safety of our workplaces, tech environment, and workspaces.
SB-553, supported and enforced by OSHA, will need to be in place at each of our church and school locations by July 1, 2024. Therefore, we are arranging to have an in-person (mandatory) rollout training with all our site Safety Coordinators and representatives on April 25, 2024, from 08:15a – 3:30p. It is very important that each school and parish have a representative in attendance who is capable of training others at their respective schools or parishes on this important safety information. Please be sure to either email Derek Gaskin or RSVP above. This will be the only way we can truly present, explain, and train employees regarding the importance of implementing and managing the WVPP, (Workplace Violence Prevention Program) prior to the deadline: July 1, 2024.
Once again, this becomes California law – enforced by OSHA on July 1, 2024. No one is exempted from the WVPP SB-553. Please place this training date on your calendar as soon as possible. Each location will be responsible for having an in-house PMT, (Program Management Team) that manages this program.
