Advent is here...
and with it, all the anticipation leading up to the grand celebration of the Word Incarnate clothed in humanity to bring us salvation! This Good News of the Gospel speaks to us in modernity while remaining rooted in antiquity. These roots run deep connecting us not only to our salvation history but Church history as well. One of the many ways we stay connected to our root system is to participate in ancient forms of praying and singing. For instance, during Advent and Lent we include the Kyrie, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei in our Mass Celebrations. These make even more tangible our rich Tradition that spans the generations, cultures, and seasons in Holy Mother Church making her what she is today; a Church consisting of you alongside all who have gone before. So while the Church lovingly gives us the opportunity to worship and learn in our own vernacular, we are privileged to reciprocate by honoring her universality whenever the occasion arises!
