Hello, Everyone!
Apples - Apples - Apples...
How does an apple grow? We heard & learned about that! On a tree, of course...
"The Apple Pie Tree" by Zoe Hall was a good story to teach us about an apple's life cycle: from seed to tree - blossom to apple - to apple pie!
Do all apples look the same? We had a chance to look at apples & feel them.
We compared and tasted green apples, red apples and yellow & red apples.
Sweet, sour, kind of sour? Children had an opportunity to compare.
What does it look like inside an apple? Someone ventured: "There are seeds inside."
"It's all white!", was another prediction.
Mrs. Kron cut an apple open and...there were seeds! Two seeds in each little chamber.
And there is a star inside each apple.
It was fun to stamp with the apples later! Everyone stamped apples right onto the branches glued down the day prior.
Jolisa came to read to us Thursday! She always brings a story to life with a physical activity. This time children moved like leaves in the wind with scarves.
Parent/Teacher conferences are going well! Thank you for coming & checking on your child's progress! I look forward to seeing more parents Tuesday evening.
Thank you for all the yummy snacks provided this week.
Please, remember: Even though it's cold out there & time permitting, we still want to take everyone outside at the end of the day. (Bundling up one time is enough!)
Be sure to send warm coat, gloves, scarf, hat etc. to make being outside safe & fun.
The Book Fair will still be here Tuesday! Have you had a chance to check out all the great books on the shelves? Christmas time's coming!
Mrs. Mac & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
