In the Spirit of the Movement
This Year of Parish Revival is about falling deeper in love with the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and following him more closely. Mirroring this internal journey with an external one is a beautiful way to connect body and soul in the pursuit of Christ.
Beginning in May the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will take place across the United States along four routes. The pilgrims will accompany Jesus in the Eucharist from city to city and will converge at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress on July 16.
The routes of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage do not pass through a city near us, but we can still be a part of this historic journey! Remember, the value of a pilgrimage is not in the distance traveled but in the disposition of our own hearts and the zeal with which we seek God.
Please join Resurrection on Tuesday, June 18, for a pilgrimage to the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Roanoke. Pilgrims will gather at 10:00 am at the basilica to have a tour and then attend Mass at noon. Together, we pray that through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Christ will draw us into greater unity as a people, as a nation, and as a Church.
