Dear friends in Christ,
This, That & the Other … A quick
word of gratitude in this time of Thanksgiving to say “Thank you!” to all who made our 10th anniversary of the Dedication of our Church such a special occasion last weekend. From the Solemn Evening Vespers on Friday to the Family Service Day on Saturday (with more than
200+ pitching in to help on various projects on campus, in the Cypress community, and at Our Mother of Mercy Church), to the joyful Heritage Choir concert on Sunday afternoon, it was a grand celebration. … The Church looked fantastic (big shout out to our Art & Environment team) and smelled great (thanks to the “sprucing” up from our Service Day crew). … Oh, and the cupcakes after all the masses were delicious, and reportedly calorie-free though I don’t have confirmation on that!
Thank you one and all!
… We'll celebrate
Mass tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, at 9 a.m. in the Church. If you are up early to put your bird in the oven, join us to give thanks to God for his many blessings. You’re welcome to bring food you’ll be serving later that day for a blessing as you take it from the table of the Lord back to your table at home.
… This weekend is the
Solemnity of Christ the King, the final Sunday in the Church’s liturgical year. It’s the culmination of our Christian journey as we praise Jesus as King of Heaven and Earth. Be sure to join us for this beautiful feast of our Lord. Also, keep in your prayers our
22 brothers and sisters who will join our Catholic faith through RCIA at the 9 a.m. Mass this Sunday. They have been preparing to make this Profession of Faith, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist for the past 12-24 months. We welcome them to God’s holy Church and rejoice with them!
… As we start the mad (and occasionally maddening) rush of the holiday season, let’s work to slow down and make it a prayerful journey. Use the coming season of Advent as
a time to wait joyfully for the Lord. The shopping and parties and everything else can be fun, but don’t let it consume you. Recall Psalm 46:
“Be still and know that I am God.” … And after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I encourage you to remember CtR on
#Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27. We welcome your support of our Capital Campaign to further our mission of serving the Gospel to all who call CtR home.

... Thanks to all who bought a
CtR Christmas ornament last weekend. We sold out of our entire stock, but don't fret. More are on the way! We'll keep you posted when they are again available. ...Fr. Ralph is away visiting family for Thanksgiving, but he joins me in wishing you a
blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! … Lastly and mostly importantly,
God loves you! … See ya’ at Mass!
