Welcome back kindergarten families,
It is hard to believe that November has come to an end. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We are learning the following in our different subject areas this week!
Reading- This week we looked at using our senses in our writing. We read a story about different sounds that animals make and we compared the characters in the story to see how they were alike and different!
Math- We have begun chapter 5 in our math series which focuses on addition!
Social Studies- We are continuing to work on our history of me! Thank you to everyone who sent the bags back with pictures, artifacts and the interview! I enjoyed getting to listen to the students share and see all of their pictures! I think they also enjoyed getting a chance to see myself when I was a baby and kid!
In other news:- Thank you Ryder for bringing snack this week! Next week snack helpers are Emmanuel and Hernan.
- Families are more than welcome to join their student at lunch. However, it is in the handbook that the students do not eat food from outside vendors. This means that the students should not be eating McDonalds, Subway, KFC, etc. Thank you so much for cooperating. If you have any questions feel free to contact myself.
- Just a reminder that if students want to play in the snow they need to have coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and boots.
- In the case of a delay, cancellation or early out, St. James following the Washington School district and will follow what they are doing. When they delays, cancellations, or early outs occur it can be found on KCII, KCRG, and the Washington school district website (www.washington.k12.ia.us).
