Why everyone loves a meal shared among friends
The last half of the Mass involves a meal among friends, a “sacred meal” where we are fed with the Body and Blood of Jesus, and are joined to God in communion.The Eucharist follows the Biblical pattern of a “sacred banquet,” which occurs in many places in both the Old and the New Testament:
- Adam and Eve enjoying the abundance of the Garden
- The Passover meal in Egypt
- Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves and the fishes
- The Last Supper that Jesus had with his friends
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SAND CROSSES!!
Due to the large number of orders placed for crosses made from the St. Ben's pew backs, volunteers are needed to help sand the crosses. Please contact Jim Scheu at Dustywood, 960 Neubling, in Evansville. Jim can be contacted at 812-459-4969. He can utilize volunteer sanders from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm -- Monday thru Friday.

72. Christ says: “Learn from me; for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Mt 11:29). If we are constantly upset and impatient with others, we will end up drained and weary. But if we regard the faults and limitations of others with tenderness and meekness, without an air of superiority, we can actually help them and stop wasting our energy on useless complaining. Saint Thérèse of Lisieux tells us that “perfect charity consists in putting up with others’ mistakes, and not being scandalized by their faults”.[69]
