Dear Parishioners,
I know it feels like we just started a new liturgical season, and we just changed mass settings, but Christmas is only 1 week away! And this marks yet a new liturgical season, which requires a new aesthetic, new colors, new attitude, and new musical mass settings (Gloria, Holy, Memorial Acclamation, Amen, Lamb of God)!
From Christmas through The Baptism of the Lord, we will sing the Mass in Honor of St. John Paul II composed by Richard Clark.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, please find attached to this email reference recordings (choral, and unaccompanied vocal) of all the mass settings.
I was told that these mass settings were done a few years ago here at St. Francis. I invite you to listen to the recordings to spark memories of the last time you heard and sang these beautiful mass settings. Please sing along, especially when the Gloria returns on Christmas Eve, join your voice to the Choirs of Angels in their eternal prayer:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to people of good will!
As Father Frank mentioned in a homily last week, God gave you your voice, he is not ashamed of his own creation!
