Great Year for these UCats
1) Nick Blair and Aleida Gomez (both VU'16) were married in June, with Fr. John Sims Baker officiating.2) Michael Fullan & Katie Greaves (both VU'16) got engaged in May.
3) Congrats to newly-weds Charlotte Gill & John Elam (both VU'16) who got married last weekend!
4) Frances (Kolb, VU'14) Turnbell & husband Ian welcomed Claire Marie in May.
5) Fr. John Sims Baker (VULS'89), UCat Chaplain 2006-16, is now pastor of St. Rose of Lima parish in Murfreesboro.
6) Mallory Jorif Frimpong, MD (MMC'14) joined Premier Medical Group in Clarksville, TN as a family practice doctor.
7) Kyle MacDonald (VU'15) is in second year of seminary at St. John Vianney in Denver.
8) Aron Aziz (VU'18) is a FOCUS missionary at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
9) Shannon (Kelley) Shaw (VULS'11) lives in Miami Shores, Florida with her husband and two children.
10) Octavio Edgington (VU'17) is seen proposing to Mindy Fitterling (BU'16) in July.
11) Mallory (Ryan) Miller (VU'09) and her family moved to Houston last year. Mallory serves in the Navy Reserve.
12) David (VU'09) & Betsy (Roberts, VU'08) Donlon live in Nashville with their three children.
13) Katie (Krog '14) Baxley got married August 5, 2017 and lives in South Bend. They are expecting a baby in February!
14) Another UCat grad, Jeff Swaney (VU'14), also got married Aug 5, 2017. 15) Caroline Walker (VU'15) & fiance, Matt, will marry in January. Both are campus ministers at Catholic schools in Pittsburgh.
16) Katarina Hickey Harrelson (VU'16) married in October and lives in San Diego. The couple are pictured with her UCat Bible study group, which they began as freshmen and continued until graduation.

University Catholic at a Glimpse
- Three dozen UCat students will start off the new year in Indianapolis at FOCUS's SEEK Conference.
- We've got over 45 students signed up for UCat's Pilgrimage to Washington DC for the March for Life (January 17-20).
- Awakening XXIV will be held February 8-10, and we hope to surpass our November retreat that attracted over 130 student participants!
- Seven UCat grads are currently in seminary.
- Eight current students are exploring vocations to the priesthood by participating in UCat's Melchizedek Project.
- FOCUS teams are going strong at both Vanderbilt and (now) Belmont Universities. Missionaries lead Bible studies and mentor disciples who in turn multiply our evangelization efforts on campus.
- Megan Miller joined our staff as Director of Campus Ministry.
- Fr. Michael Fye is in his fourth year as Chaplain for UCat.
- Sunday Suppers continue to fill Frassati House each week.
- Three students, who have gone through RCIA with Fr. Fye since September, will be joining the Catholic Church at Easter.
