- At all Masses this weekend, there will be a BLESSING OF COUPLES AND MARRIEDS, in the spirit of Love for the Holy Family. So, bring your sweetheart!
- PALM IS NEEDED: with Ash Wednesday just around the corner (March 5th), please bring any palm you may have in your homes, cars, or wherever you keep palm from last year. We will be collecting it over the next couple weeks; there will be baskets in the middle aisle and at the back of church, where you can drop it off at Mass. The old palm is used to make the ash for Ash Wednesday. We promise to replace it with fresh palm on Palm Sunday.
- HEALING MASS: sponsored by the FIAT Prayer Group monthly will be held this Friday, on Feb 21st here at church. It begins at 6:30pm with the Rosary, Mass at 7pm followed Fellowship and some Valentine Fun. All are welcome to join!
- NEXT WEEKEND we will have a Special Visitor, AT THE 11AM MASS on FEB 23RD, ARCHBISHOP NELSON PEREZ will be presiding over Confirmation of three Holy Cross School Students. We strongly encourage you to Come to Support those being Confirmed (Jamarr, Arielle and Aron – Let’s keep them in Prayer), also to give the Archbishop a warm Holy Cross Welcome.
- Considering the ARCHBISHOP’S VISIT ON SUNDAY, FEB 23RD, Father Okafor encourages us all to use this opportunity to express our hopes and concerns for our Holy Cross Parish in the form of personal letters to Archbishop. All letters, cards and testimonials received (by email or on paper) will be gathered and presented to Archbishop Perez during his visit next weekend. More details provided below.

In light of Archbishop Perez’s scheduled visit on Sunday, Feb 23rd, at the 11AM Mass to preside over the Confirmation of students from Holy Cross School, Father Okafor encourages us all to use this opportunity to express our hopes, dreams and concerns for our Parish in the form of personal letters to the Archbishop.

Basic items needed for a for a SMOOTH TRANSITION OF ADMINISTRATION,
- providing adequate overlap of Fr Emmons and Fr Okafor by POSTPONING FR EMMONS’ RETIREMENT (to at least June 2025)
- to ensure proper MENTORSHIP for the new priest
- and CONTINUITY OF PASTORAL CARE for the congregation
- as well as a COMMITMENT TO GROWING & INVESTING IN OUR PARISH
- access to Archdiocesan resources needed to grow and truly revitalize our parish to become financially sustainable
- give us a shot to further build our relevance and outreach to the Mount Airy community
