We hope you have made it through the frigid cold and are enjoying what now seems like a heat wave! Thank you for understanding when the parish school and offices needed to close this past week. We wanted everyone to be safe and not to worry about traveling. Hopefully all your other scheduled activities were able to be put on hold as well. Sometimes God gets in the middle of our lives and tells us to slow down. That's not a bad thing. Also God sometimes reminds us that we need to stop, look around, and take care of one another. The cold weather made us do that and perhaps it is something we should always keep in the front of throughts, even when it isn't cold!

Bake Sale for One Heart Uganda
Valentine's Day is approaching and what could be sweeter than fresh baked Valentine's Day cookies and cakes that were sold to support students in Uganda through One Heart Uganda? Next Sunday, February 10, 2019 after the 8am and 10am Masses (and into the start of Biddy Basketball) at the Saint Andrew gym, students from our seventh grade are selling baked items.Bring a few extra dollars (and your sweet tooth) to help make this bake sale a success!
Parish Mission - Save the Date
The annual Parish Mission jointly sponsored with our neighboring parish Saint Benedict will be on Friday, April 5, Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 6:30pm at Saint Benedict. This years' speakers are Deacon Loren and his wife Cynthia Bowns. Make plans to join us for at least one night in this parish retreat!

Also at Mass this past weekend, we heard from Archbishop Cardinal Cupich who is headed to Rome for a meeting with the Pope on the global crisis of child sexual abuse by clergy and the scandal of cover-ups by bishops. He asked that we share the most recent online resource provided by the Archdiocese of Chicago to support the healing of victims, measures for accountability, and steps for prevention of criminal sexual abuse by clergy.
