Ash Wednesday Fasting and Abstinance
Ash Wednesday is an obligatory day of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.--United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
Stations of the Cross
There are two opportunites for the Stations of the Cross next week. Ash Wednesday, March 6 at 2:30pm and Friday, March 8 at 6:00pm followed by a Lenten Soup Supper at 6:30 in Charity Hall.Divine Mercy
Grace Buresh will be doing a short background history on the message of Divine Mercy which is very simple: God loves us and His mercy is greater than our sins. He calls us to trust in Him and to be open to receive His mercy and in turn one shares it with others. Tues., March 5 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Charity Hall.
Kapaun’s Men Virtue Series
“He was the greatest example of manhood that I’ve ever seen in my life.” Servant of God Father Emil Kapaun was a heroic Catholic priest and Army chaplain who spent his life in service to his fellow men on the battlefields and in the prison camps of Korea. In the dire conditions of the Communist prison camp, he inspired men to band together and keep fighting, and his story has been inspiring men ever since. Xhrist the King Parish will be hosting the 7-week Kapaun’s Men Virtue Series on Formed.org beginning on March 5th at 7:00pm in Charity Hall. All men of the parish are invited to come meet one of America’s future saints and see for yourselves why he is known as a such great model of authentic masculinity. PSR Kindergarten/1st grade class took turns creating a section of the rosary. They learned what prayer each bead represented and that each decade focuses on an event in the life of Jesus. Then they ate the beads which were marshmallows, m&ms and chocolate chips. They were then quizzed at the end of class supporting how much they learned. What a great lesson! Thank you to the teachers Shannon Ponce and Madison Breese.

Man Fully Alive Conference
