Attend Presentation this Sunday - Get Volunteer Hours
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have received several reports from students, parents, and teachers across grade levels regarding inappropriate and questionable social media use by our students. Even in our younger grades, we are hearing about YouTube pop-ups that include dangerous material (encouraging children to hurt themselves or others) and material that has been described as very scary for our children (masked faces and scary faces). Please be watchful of your child's use of social media (Facebook, twitter, snapchat, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, Tumblr etc.) as well as texts and facetime use. Students are using multiple methods of communicating with one another, so please do check in on all methods of communication.
We are planning a presentation for parents regarding this topic on March 17, 2019, between the Sunday Masses to begin as close to 9:10 am as possible. Please see FlockNotes for additional details on Thursday. In the meantime, we highly recommend that you check your child's social media/communication use daily. We also recommend that your child/children leave their devices with you overnight and that they do not have them in their bedrooms.
Please attend our presentation, Sunday, March 17, 2019, between the Masses. You may count your attendance toward your volunteer hours. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping to keep all our students safe,
Mrs. Mummey and Dr. Roberts
