Thank you all so very much for arranging your schedules to meet with us for Parent Teacher Conferences. We are very thrilled to work with such great students who are very blessed to have such supportive parents. We truly appreciate all you do to help your children. Enjoy Spring Break! Book in a Bag - Thank you for helping your child build reading fluency skills and responsibility skills with Book in a Bag. It is your child's responsibility to read it to you and bring their book back to school to exchange every day, even if you check "keep" and decide to keep reading that same book. It keeps them in the habit of being responsible for taking their book home, reading and talking about it, and bringing it back. We want to increase the amount of time each child reads as well as encourage reading of a variety of writing styles. **Please discuss the book with them to help them build comprehension skills. Ask them questions and have them tell you what happened. Remember to talk about the story, characters, and what the big ideas are in the story. We have been working on responsibility and what that means. We have encouraged students to be responsible for their take home folders, books, backpacks, anything they can do on their own. They are very proud of becoming more independent and we are so proud of them!We do go outside for recess if the temperature feels 10 or above. Encourage your child to check their bags each day so they remember to have hats, gloves, snow pants and boots. Hopefully we will not need this much longer!
Snacks - March 25 - 29: Lovella is in charge of snacks.
