Dear Parents,
I am writing to remind you about the next class that will be held in preparation for your child’s Confirmation at Saint Andrew.
You child’s class is being held in conjunction with the Parish Mission on
Sunday, April 7 at 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
The Parish Mission is the premiere annual faith formation event for parishioners of all ages. We hold it jointly with Saint Benedict parish and this year, it is held at Saint Benedict in the
Ackerman Center, 2210 W Irving Park Rd.
As it is for all ages, I would encourage you to come as well. A short insight into our speakers and their hopes for the Mission can be seen at the video below.
If your child cannot attend on Sunday, the first option I would give for a “make-up” experience is to attend one of the other nights of the mission on either Friday or Saturday night. Ideally, we would like to invite participants to attend all three nights, but it is designed that you can attend any one night of the mission.
The mission normally starts at 6:30pm, but I am asking students to be in the Ackerman Center at 7:30pm because on Sunday night, there will be Mass prior to the mission in the main church at Saint Benedict. Attendance a Sunday Mass is part of the expectation I have for our Confirmation candidates and I assume they will be attending Mass sometime on Saturday or Sunday, but if they have not previously done so, I recommend that they come to Mass at 6:30pm and then stay for the mission in the Ackerman center.
We won’t have any further meetings until after Easter for Confirmation preparation and I’ll send you details
God bless,
David Heimann
