St. Mary Parish has a Maintenance Committee that meets once a month to monitor and oversee the buildings. Below is a list of maintenance issues that have been addressed in the past five years.
- Stained glass windows in the church were inspected and were found to be in good condition and not in need of any work at this time (Serpentino Stained Glass Studio, Restoration and Conservation Specialists in Needham)
- Church’s masonry work has been repointed
- Church’s slate roof has been inspected and repaired
- Church’s back lower roofs have been replaced and new gutters installed
- Fire alarm system has been inspected, repaired, and upgraded from analog to cellular
- Leaks in the roof of the parish hall have been repaired
- Sections of the sidewalks have been replaced
- Crumbling step at the front entrance of the church has been replaced
- Main entrance driveway & rectory driveway have been repaved
- Large sink hole in the parking lot has been filled and repaved
- Landing at the foot of the stairs on the parking lot side entrance to the church has been replaced
- Bulkhead for the church’s basement has been replaced
- New ceiling fans have been installed
- New window has been installed in the door of the confessional
- Dimmer switches have been replaced in the parish hall
- New LED light bulbs are in the process of being installed throughout the property
- Parish Hall and Kitchen have been repainted
- Rectory boiler has been replaced
- Rectory chimney has been repointed
- Three toilets in the rectory have been replaced
- Broken pipes in the rectory basement have been replaced
- New sound system for the church has been installed
- New condensers for the parish hall air conditioning/heating system have been installed
- Non-functioning fire alarm box removed from rectory
- Dead and diseased trees have been removed from the property
