Entrusting Myself to the Hands of Jesus
I've come to think that the only, the supreme,
prayer
we can offer up, during these hours
when the road before us is shrouded in darkness,
is that of our Master on the cross:
'In manus tuas commendo spiritum meum.'
To the hands that broke and gave life to the bread,
that blessed and caressed, that were pierced;...
to the kindly and mighty hands that reach down
to the very marrow of the soul- that mould and
create-
to the hands through which so great a love is
transmitted-
it is to these that it is good to surrender our soul,
above all when we suffer or are afraid.
And in so doing there is a great happiness and great merit.

Blessing of the Runners
The Cathedral will host its annual Blessing of the Runners liturgy, before the race, beginning at 7:30am on Sat Apr 13.
April 11-13 Street Closures/Soup Supper Canceled
Due to the 10K race this weekend, there will be street closures around the Cathedral from Thursday April 11 at 1:00pm, until Saturday April 13 at 5:00pm. If you are attending the Saturday 5:15pm Mass, please use W. Main St. or W. Cary St. to access the Main and Laurel Parking Deck.

Holy Week Schedule
The liturgies of Holy Week are the triumvirate days upon which our shared faith is founded, treated as one big liturgy, and is referred to as “the pinnacle of the liturgical year.” Please attend these beautiful commemorations of the Institution of Holy Orders, the Institution of the Most Holy Eucharist, the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Resurrection. Plenty of parking will be available during Holy Week. Please join us and be immersed in Beauty.

NOTICE: Holy Week Parking Changes
For Chrism Mass, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil Masses, there will be free on-street parking reserved for Cathedral parishioners, and limited, paid parking available at the Main/Laurel deck. Please obtain a parking permit and directions from an attendant located by the stone pillars at the entrance to Cathedral Place, our one-way street. On Easter Sunday, please use either free on-street parking, or free parking at the deck at 805 W. Grace St, as the Main/Laurel deck will be closed Easter Sunday.
Reflections: Mystics of the Church
Reflections will meet on Sunday April 28 at 10:00 AM in Monsignor's Office on the 3rd floor of the Parish Office. We will be discussing St. Pope Gregory the Great as we discussed Caryll Houselander in March instead of the scheduled St. Gregory.

Stuart Circle Palm Sunday Procession on April 14 at 9:30a
Join other Cathedral parishioners and our fellow Stuart Circle Parishes in a Palm Sunday procession. This long-standing, Richmond tradition begins with an opening liturgy at Grace Covenant Presbyterian near Stuart Circle, will continue to different Stuart Circle churches, ending at the Cathedral. You will not want to miss this event!

Holy Land Items For Sale!
Amir Qumsieh from the Holy Land is selling religious items in the Parish Hall before and after all Masses this weekend.
Children's Choir rehearsals resume and will meet on the 14th at 10:05a in the Parish Offices! A special Saturday practice is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 11:30 to 12:15. Call time is 8:15am for the 9:00am Easter Mass on Sunday, April 21st.

RCIA is a process of conversion and spiritual formation for individuals who are interested in living the Christian life in the Catholic tradition. RCIA is a time of prayer, study, reflection, and faith sharing.

Is this project a Cathedral of Sacred Heart Foundation project so corporations and foundations can also contribute?
Yes. The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Foundation is partnering with Cathedral’s organ committee and Finance Council. Part of the fundraising strategy is to reach out to local foundations and individuals who are interested in preservation projects to secure the needed funding. This will reduce the amount of the funding requested from Cathedral parishioners.

Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Homebound
This is a wonderful ministry whereby you will meet some of the nicest and most grateful people imaginable. The time commitment is minimal but the reward is everlasting!
If you can commit to spending a few moments once a month, bringing the Eucharist to those who would otherwise not receive it, contact the Eucharistic Minister Coordinator.

Gift Shop Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to staff the Gift Shop before and after the 9:00am Sunday Mass. We can schedule one Sunday or more as your schedule allows. This would involve arriving between 8:05–8:15am and working until 8:50 before Mass, and working immediately after Mass until volunteers for the 11:00am Mass arrive. This ministry is thriving thanks to its volunteers, so please consider volunteering your time.
