Your Parish Needs Your Help!

It takes a lot of hard work to celebrate Mass in our magnificent Church each week — Holy Week and Easter are no exception! Lifting plants, holding a ladder, arranging flowers, and cleaning up are a few ways you can help during this busy time of the year. There is no need to sign up to help – just show up and take part.

Here are the times when we need help:

• Holy Thursday, April 18, 4:30 p.m. – to help set up for the Mass of the Lord's Supper and the altar of repose
• Good Friday, April 19, 10 a.m. – to help set up for the Passion of the Lord
• Holy Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. – to help decorate for Easter (this is the big one, so if you can only come to one, come to this one)

Easter Vigil Reception

Our Parish holds an annual reception after the Easter Vigil to welcome its new members and to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord.

All parishioners are invited to attend after the Easter Vigil Mass!

This reception — a longstanding tradition at St. Joseph’s — is made possible each year with donations of treats by parishioners like you. Bring your favorite goodies — sweet or savory — to the school hall Saturday morning. Sign up to let us know what you're bringing!

We also need help setting up at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and with cleanup after the party.

Easter Eggs for the Soup Kitchen

The St. Joseph's Soup Kitchen will mark the Easter celebration with a festive meal on Saturday, April 20. We have annually asked the community, including members of the parish, to provide decorated Easter eggs to distribute to our guests.

The eggs are a beautiful addition to the meal and an excellent source of protein!

Please drop off your hard-boiled, decorated eggs in Casserly Hall (under the church, entrance on Washington Place) between 10 a.m. and Noon on Saturday, April 20.

The Chapel of Repose closes at midnight, concluding with Night Prayer.

Friday, April 19: Good Friday

Noon: Stations of the Cross (with confessions)
3 p.m.: Commemoration of the Lord’s Death and Passion
8 p.m.: Tenebrae

Saturday, April 20: Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil
9 a.m.: Morning Prayer
8:30 p.m.: Mass of Easter Vigil

Sunday, April 21: Easter Sunday
9 a.m.: Easter Mass
11:30 a.m.: Easter Mass
6 p.m.: Easter Mass

Holy Hour & Social

Wednesday, April 24, 7:30 p.m.

The entire St. Joseph’s Parish Community is invited to attend a Holy Hour and Social.

During this time of prayer, offered for the parish ministries, there will be preaching by the friars, the praying of compline (night prayer) as a community, and the opportunity to attend the sacrament of confession.

Following the Holy Hour, join us for a Social to celebrate the Easter season!

This event is open to the all ages, and no RSVP is required.
