EASTER MESSAGE
On behalf of our Parish Staff, I wish you all a blessed Easter!
Today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate the central truth of the Christian faith: Jesus resurrected! On Easter Vigil, the holiest of nights we gathered around the fire and acknowledged the fact that God brought forth light out of darkness. Today, we openly celebrate God, the Father raising Christ, our Light, from death to eternal life. We are filled with joy that the One who was crucified and died on the cross is now raised from death to new life. Death has no more power over Him. And so, we are called to sing out with joy the Psalm response: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.”Our Gospel speaks of the empty tomb and the coming to faith. The first reading tells us about how the Early Church proclaimed the salvation story of Jesus’ teaching, dying, and rising and being seen by witnesses. St Paul discusses with the Colossians also about what they should do in the light of Jesus’ resurrection. What should we do especially today that we are filled with praise and joy at the victory of Our Lord Jesus over the grave?
To our Visitors:
I wish to thank you, our visitors, for choosing to come to our Church and celebrate with us this central truth about our faith. It is always a warm and fulfilling experience when we have you all around worshipping with us. For those who are from our town, enjoy your family, friends, our city and have a safe travel back. If you do not have a parish yet to call a home, please feel free to use our registration form at the back page of our Bulletin. If you would like to support 2019 Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal, please pick a pledge envelope at the back of the Church or go online to
cardinalsappeal.org, click on Donate, select an amount and direct your gift to our Church. As of now, we have only been able to pay $16,158, pledged $19,756 out of our parish goal of $39,500.00. We are still appealing for more participation in this annual stewardship efforts.
Thank you
To everyone who participated in cleaning and decorating the Church, beginning on Palm Sunday ncluding The Good Shepherd of St Mary’s - Arabic Community through Easter celebration. I was touched by the number of Altar Servers who stayed behind after Religious Education program to practice for Palm Sunday celebration. On that day alone, four of them waited behind again to assist at Quienceanera celebration at 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm Vigil Mass and came back again to serve at 7:30 pm Spanish Mass. Thank you to the parents and guardians because I know without you this would not have been possible. To others also: Extra-ordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist, Lectors, Altar servers, ushers, Music Directors (English and Spanish Choir), and also our Cemetery staff members who came to assist too, we truly appreciate your help. A special thanks to all who responded generously towards our Easter Flower donation for our Sanctuary. As you know, this being our first Easter celebration with you, we are most grateful to everyone for their contributions.
May the joy of this Easter Season continue to reign in your family, in your homes and also in your hearts.
“What good would life have been to us, had Christ not come as our Redeemer?”

~Request a Mass Intention~
Those wishing to honor a loved one during the celebration of Mass may pick up Mass cards in the parish office. Mass cards are available for the living and deceased and provided opportunities for prayerful remembrance of anniversaries, birthdays, and other special intentions. Masses are usually booked at least several months in advance so if you want the Mass, it is very important that you call the parish office well ahead of time.
