We would not be Christians if it weren’t for this man...
Saul was born in Tarsus, in present-day Turkey.
His parents were Jewish and he was born a Roman citizen. He was comfortable with all four cultures of the first century: Mediterranean, Roman, Hellenistic, and Jewish.
This made him perfectly suited to become—through miraculous and dramatic events—an evangelist, preacher, and apostle.
He was given a new name, Paul. And in return, he gave Christianity to the world.
Watch and learn how he did it:
Questions:
- What was Saul’s background and mission before his conversion? What happened to him at his conversion?
- Why did Paul retreat for three years between his conversion and the start of his mission?
- What does “participation in Christ” mean?
