We are winding down! We took another Math test this week on area and perimeter and the kids did great! We have now started our last chapter of math for the year on Geometry...2-dimensional shapes, 3-dimensional shapes, which include line segments, points, rays, angles... Next week we will complete our last week of LARS in the book. This does not mean we will be done with LARS but it does mean next week is our last week with spelling lists/tests. We have LOTS of review to do to bring us to the end of the school year. We have become engineers! In Science the kids are creating carts using limited supplies. We have talked about engineers having to make changes every time things don't work the way they need it to and how they may change them several times before they get the results they want. This is a challenge for some, but they have created some great carts.
Thank you Chris for snack this week. Next week is Nate's turn.
We got a great opportunity this week. The 5th graders had a big, blow-up digitarium/planetarium in the gym. They gave us the opportunity to go in and see it. They showed us the constellations as well as the planets up close. They did a great job of explaining what they have learned. The kids really enjoyed it.
REMINDER: the St. James Spring Concert is Wednesday, May 15 at the Community Center beginning at 6:30. This is earlier than other concerts we have had so take note of the earlier start time please. Kids may come backstage at 6:15.
