Please note: If anyone would like to meet with us to discuss their child's progress please email us times that would work with you. For both of us to be present it would be best for us to meet Wednesdays-Fridays.
Book in a Bag - Thank you so much for helping your child improve their reading. Reading every night has really shown growth in their reading abilities.
They are doing a wonderful job bringing the books back every day even if they want to keep it. We are so proud of the responsibility they are showing.
**They are really improving their comprehension skills. Please continue to discuss the book with them. Ask them questions and have them tell you what happened. Remember to talk about the story, characters, and what the big ideas are in the story.
We continue to work on responsibility and what that means. Every day we have an agenda on the board to help them keep on track of what their job is and what they need to complete. They are doing a wonderful job!
They are doing very well being responsible for their take home folders, books, backpacks, and anything they can do on their own. They are very proud of becoming more independent and we are so proud of them!
This week was a typical spring week - cold in the morning and nice in the afternoon. Encourage your child to check their bags each day so they remember to have hats, gloves and boots as the mornings are sometimes chilly. Hopefully we will not need them much longer!

Spelling - Thank you so much for working with your child in learning how to read and spell their spelling words and sight words. It truly makes a difference in how well they do in reading and writing their words.

Science - We have finished our unit on Sound and will now begin our next phase of our Science unit on learning about Light.
Math - We have been working on our unit on 2-digit addition and subtraction. We continue working on learning our addition and subtraction facts. We're learning doubles addition facts and our tens as well as counting by 2's, 5's and 10's to 100 and beyond as well as understanding place value and one-to-one correspondence. Thank you so much for helping your child learn their addition and subtraction facts. It truly helps for them to practice at home too!
Social Studies - We are learning more about maps and our world. We are continuing our understanding of working together as a community and our responsibility to our world in conservation and protecting our environment.
We will continue working on reading skills, adding new sight words, learning new reading strategies, and working on math facts.
