Happy Wednesday;
A colleague of mine, Michael Campbell, who now teaches at Southwestern, shared an unpublished quote from a letter Ellen White wrote to the GC leadership in 1907. For some reason it impressed me, and I thought it would be good to share...
"My brethren, you need to pray much more than you need to talk. Do not talk doubt or unbelief; for this closes the door against the Hoy Spirit. Do not criticize and find fault. Humble yourselves before God, and confess your own sins. When you have sought and received pardon for your own wrong-doing, then do the work God has ordained. Practical godliness revealed in your own life will bring your brethren into working order... Love for souls will lead you to be laborers together with God. Love for souls will make you partakers of the sufferings of Christ, and a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men" June 14, 1907)How often could this counsel apply to us? We need to press together in prayer, and personally developing the deeper walk with God He desires for us. With a mission field of 300,000+ people, there is no time to delay. What could Lewisville church do if we spent more time in prayer and testimony, and less time in the things which would draw us away from God's mission, and could divide us as well. Just a thought...

KSCS Capital Campaign: Rise Up! We have launched our $75,000 campaign, and we have a matching donor willing to match every gift given up to $20,000! This is a great time to contribute, knowing your dollars are doubled. A .PDF of the campaign brochure is included with this email, and printed ones are coming soon.
The first $20,000 raised will enable us to begin the renovation of the school, which includes carpet, paint, LED lighting, tile, and bathroom upgrades. We hope to begin shortly after school begins, and be completed when school resumes in August.
If you would like to give towards the campaign, in addition to your gifts to the church, please mark your tithe envelops "KSCS Campaign" so the money is assigned correctly, and will be included in the matching funds challenge. If we can raise $10,000 by May 31st, we will get our first matching check of an additional $10,000 and be ready to start the renovations which will bring our school to a level of excellence.

Broken record that I am, or a playlist on repeat, I must encourage EVERY member to do their spiritual gifts assessment, if you haven't done so already. It can be easily accessed online at
www.knowmygifts.me, or by paper copy, with results emailed in to
office@lewisvilleadventistchurch.org. If you do the assessment online, the preferred method, please note you must complete every line on the initial page, and when you begin the assessment itself, complete every question. It is best to block off the 25-30 minutes and complete, rather than saving and trying to access again.
The work of the Ministry Placement Team must begin soon, but we have only received minimal responses for the spiritual gifts assessments. Please make this a priority. God has called each member to be on mission for Him, and we desire to engage every member in the work of the church by matching gifts, skills, and passions with the areas of ministry available. We don't do this to serve ourselves, we do this to serve others, and to be a church welcoming to the community around us. YOU are a valuable part of the mission of Lewisville, please let God use you!

Mother's Day is this coming Sunday. We all have mothers! Call her, write her, visit her, whatever you must do, but appreciate her! If you have lost your mother already, we think of you now, and encourage you to love someone else mother, and show appreciation to all the mothers in our congregation who are faithful, and show their children another example of godly love.
Check out the Skit Guys Mother's Day below... Dad's, mom has it made!_______________________________________________________________________
We have two Sabbaths planned for our next baptisms. May 18 and June 1. If you are ready for your baptism, email me (pastordean@mac.com) or call/text (817-658-5131). We are thrilled at the decisions being made, as we have two upcoming baptisms on the 18th, and one on June 1st. This is a culture shift for LSDA, but God is blessing through the lives and hearts of many.

If you want to be baptized, have just been baptized, or just want to explore God's word from a new standpoint, we encourage you to check out the START HERE class, which is directly to the left when you walk into the sanctuary. It's not to late to join up, and it will continue on in the third quarter as GO FURTHER, with a new START HERE class beginning as well, keeping us always on cycle with a Bible study class.

Be safe through the rest of the week, and enjoy the blessings you have received from God. Better yet, be a blessing to someone else also, spreading the wealth!
See you Sabbath!
