We are waiting to hear back from several contacts and will send a more complete schedule the first of next week. We wanted you to know to plan on having a sack lunch for your child for next Friday, May 17. Book in a Bag - Thank you so much for helping your child improve their reading by reading their books with them and listening to them read. We have had some children signing the slip and we are asking that only a parent or older adult sign after the student has read the book to you. Books need to be read several times if possible for the best growth in fluency.Reading every night has really shown growth in their reading abilities.
We continue to work on responsibility and what that means. Every day we have an agenda on the board to help them keep on track of what their job is and what they need to complete. They are doing a wonderful job! They are doing very well being responsible for their take home folders, books, backpacks, and anything they can do on their own. They are very proud of becoming more independent and we are so proud of them! This week was winter/spring week - cold in the morning and still cold in the afternoon. Encourage your child to check their bags each day so they remember to have hats, gloves and boots. We had some cold children on Thursday!!! Our room has also been chilly, you might want to send a sweater for wearing in the classroom in addition to a jacket for recess. Hopefully we will not need them much longer!
Snacks - May 13-17: Lucas is in charge of snacks.
