Is it already the middle of May?!
This past Sunday was 4th Sunday of the Easter season which is classically celebrated as Good Shepherd Sunday as we hear the Gospel from St. John where Jesus speaks of Himself as the Good Shepherd who loves and cares for His sheep. As such, this past Sunday was also the World Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood since priests and bishops are called to continue the shepherding ministry of Jesus in our own time.
Thanks be to God for sending us Jesus to be the Good Shepherd and for sending us our new bishop, Donald Hying, to shepherd the people of the Diocese of Madison into greater communion with Jesus Christ! Check out the video below for some reflections on how all of us can develop the heart of a shepherd as we seek to reach out to others with the love and truth of Christ!
