The Time Has Come
It's that time most homeowners dread—time for some major repairs.St. Michael Parish is no exception and is in serious need of some major repairs and renovations:
A New Roof
It's lived beyond its ability to keep water out and to protect our structure. After years of patching and dealing with costly leaks, we are now at the point where it must be replaced. Our current roof is 17 years old, and we are ready to retire our buckets! This project will take one month to complete and will cost $93,000! Work has already started on this project.New Carpet for the Worship Space
After years of stretching to fix a buckling carpet, we are ready to replace this carpet that was installed in 2002! We do not have a start date for this project, but we are hopeful that we can move forward very soon. The total cost for this project is approximately $60,000. We are seeking bids now.St. Michael is seeking the most cost-effective approach for these improvements. Rest assured that we do have reserves in our budget for improvements just like this, and they will substantially cover a significant portion of these cost. However, we still find ourselves unable to cover the entire cost for this scope of work. To help with these cost, we will be having a Second Collection over the next three months. Please prayerfully consider contributing to support these building enhancements. Together, these projects significantly improve the longevity and look of our space. St. Michael Parish has been sharing our gifts of faith and ministry for 27 years with the community. It is now time to invest in improving our property and facilities, so that we can continue to share our faith for many more years!
In Search of Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Member Database & Sacramental Record KeepingThis 25-hour per week position begins on July 1. The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in data entry, with preference given to those who have experience using the ParishSoft Family Suite. Candidates should have good handwriting skills, as sacramental records require handwritten entry. This position requires excellent time management and communications skills.

VIRTUS Training/Protecting God's Children® for Adults is training conducted by VIRTUS® certified facilitators on the prevention of child sexual abuse. The training makes participants aware of the signs of child sexual abuse, the methods and means by which offenders commit abuse, and five easy steps one can use to prevent child sexual abuse. Two videos are the centerpiece of the training: A Time to Protect God's Children™ and A Plan to Protect God's Children™. The facilitators incorporate policies and procedures into the training defining child sexual abuse, addressing the reporting of child sexual abuse, the screening and selection of employees and volunteers, and victim advocacy.

Adults Needed for Work Camp!
Saturday | June 23 - Friday | June 28
Wise County | VA (Homebase: Norton Elementary/Middle)We are currently looking for two adults who would be willing to come out and help with a crew of teens during the course of the Work Camp week. You do NOT need to have a superb background in handiwork.
We have contractors who will help guide the crews with project scope specifically. You are there to be a mentor and to help lead and work side by side with your crew. It's a rewarding week!
Registration for adult help is covered by the Youth Ministry office.

- $110 million for housing services that assisted over 3,900 families
- a proven reading program for over 2,000 disadvantaged elementary school children
- primary healthcare for 30,000 low-income residents in our region
- a career pipeline that helped 23 young adults secure healthcare jobs in its first nine months of operation
