Dear Parish Family,
As a result of the outstanding assistance that we received from the Archdiocese and their insurance support, and also the dedicated and diligent efforts of our restoration contractor, ServiceMaster Advantage, their subcontractors and our Facilities team, we are pleased to report that we will resume classes at the St. Martha Catholic School on Tuesday, May 21.
We also report that the first floor of both buildings have been prepared in a safe and clean manner that will allow us to resume school, but these facilities are TEMPORARY.
For example, most all carpeting has been removed and we will have clean bare concrete floors in many of the classrooms. Our pre-K and kindergarten classrooms will have temporary carpeting installed. Sheetrock has been removed from the bottom of most classroom walls and is being temporarily covered in heavy plastic. Also, a good number of the classrooms have had cabinetry removed. Our primary concern is for the safety of our students and testing by an Environmental Engineer has been accomplished and the cleanup and sanitation has been successful. This will allow us to reoccupy the buildings for their intended purpose, the education of our children.
Following the completion of the school year, the Archdiocese will have a construction contractor undertake the complete restoration of our school buildings to return them to pre-flood condition. This will lead to some more inconveniences to the schedule of buildings during the summer, but we ask for your patience as we rebuild.
God has been very good to us and we continue to pray for his guidance during these trying times. We am very grateful to all the talented and hard working staff, vendors, and volunteers that have helped us make so much progress in such a short time. Let us keep each other in prayer as we move forward during these times. We also pray for our neighbors who dealing with the same struggles and we continue to help and support those who need it.
God bless you all,
Fr. TJ and Ms. Munscher (Principal)
