Parish Weekly Update –
May 16, 2019
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph:
I hope everyone has had a great beginning of May. We've had some beautiful weather over the last few days and I hope the beginning of the summer break has been restful for our university folks. The last days of the high school and elementary academic year is upon us and many are graduating this week and next. Congratulations to those graduating from High School and to your families.
The Summer months will be restful, but busy. In the coming weeks we will say good bye to Mary Beth Nunenmacher and we will be introduced to our new Director of Campus Ministry, Meg Kanatzar. We will also be getting ready for Vacation Bible School in the beginning of the month of June.

Finance Council Meeting
Yesterday evening, we had a Finance Council meeting. We reviewed and approved the engagement letter from Watkins, Ward, & Stafford concerning the internal controls audit we have asked for and the audit should begin soon. We also began a preliminary review of next year's budget, which will be approved in June for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. We discussed and approved a few projects thePhysical Plant Committee has recommended, including:
Handicap Parking
The Physical Plant Committee and The Finance Council have each recommended and approved work to begin to improve our handicap parking spaces on the East side of the Church closest to the main entrance of the Church. We hope to begin work very soon. This work should be approximately $11,660.00.
Fencing for the Outdoor Air Conditioning Units
We also approved a plan to place fencing around the air conditioning units around the church building on our campus. This is for the protection and safety of our children as well as the protection of the equipment. This work will be approximately $2,350.00.
Air Conditioner
This past week the air conditioner work has begun in the Church on one of the 10 ton units. We are very happy to see that work progress.
Parish Pastoral Council Meeting
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet next Thursday night, July 23 at 6:15 in the Parish Center. This will be the first time the new council members will attend a meeting and the last time our outgoing members will be able to attend.
Thank you very much to our outgoing members -- Laura Damm, Ian Perez, Dana Bohna, and Robin Pigg. Thanks for your guidance, your wisdom, and your willingness to serve.
