DISTRICT FAMILY OF THE YEAR
The Dale and Karen Napier Family was selected by the state Knights of Columbus council at the State convention in Manhattan, KS as the Family of the Year for District 36
The Dale and Karen Napier family was selected as the council family of the year for the previous year, and were selected as the council family of the month in February 2018. The Family consist of Dale and Karen, David 13, Jacob 11, Janessa 8, Kara 6, Annabell 5, Brayden 4, and Greyson 2 years
Dale and Karen didn't have children of their own, and got involved in foster care, this great love for their fellow man lead them to adopt their first child out of the foster care program. Not only did they do this for one person, but they did this 7 times for 7 different children. Raising one's own children is difficult and demanding in this day and age, but it is even more incredible to find a couple willing to take on the responsibility of raising 7children as their own. Karen and Dale had to fight passionately to adopt many of the children they now claim as their own, you know you are loved if someone is willing to fight passionately for your well being. If you know Karen and Dale you would know this is not out of character for this couple that have such big hearts, every time the couple were presented with a new child to foster, the great love that God possessed them with compelled them to adopt that child until they couldn't adopt any more due to the State of Kansas limits on adoption. What a great example of Christian love this husband and wife are to all who know them. Dale works as a clerk in the parts department of the local airport, and Karen works in the Cafeteria at Christ the king Catholic School.
This isn't all that they do! the children attending christ the King Catholic School, Dale assist with tree trimming, several of the children are altar servers
Thank you Dale and Karen, you serve as a living example of the love that Christ has for us, the next time you see this couple, thank them and get to know them. Perhaps who they are will rub off on us all, and we can be as brave, compassionate, and loving as they are.
