Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With a heavy heart I need to share with you some pastoral changes that are coming to St. Simon. Beginning Wednesday July 3rd Fr. Santhosh and I are being reassigned to different parishes.
Fr. Santhosh will become the Associate Pastor of St. Louis Parish in Batesville, working with Fr. Stan Pondo. The two will also serve as sacramental ministers for St. Charles in Milan.
I will become the pastor of St. Monica Parish on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Between the deaths and retirement of a large number of priests this year, the need for more bilingual pastors necessitated the need for the Archdiocese to reassign me to a parish that needs a pastor that can speak Spanish.
Though Fr. Santhosh and I are sad to leave St. Simon, we trust in God’s will for our Archdiocese, parish, and in our lives. You can be certain of our prayers for our community of St. Simon and I ask for your prayers for Fr. Santhosh and me and the parishes we will be serving.
On Wednesday, July 3rd, Fr. Doug Marcotte will become the new Pastor of St. Simon. Fr. Doug currently serves as the pastor of two parishes in Jeffersonville Indiana: Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Augustine. Fr. Doug is a son of St. Michael Parish in Greenfield. Please pray for him and the parishes that he will be leaving.
Love,
Fr. John
