Dear Members of Pax Christi,
This coming Sunday is the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. Our prayer this weekend will help us pray, give honor to, and reflect on one of the most fundamental of Christian beliefs. Many doctors of the church and theologians have argued, defended, and written about the Trinity, and have done their own masterful reflections on the relationship, harmony, and unity of the Godhead. Although we can never fully understand the mystery of the Trinity in all its complexity, we can come forth with sure knowledge that God’s desire is to be known to us as revealed in a myriad of ways in our lives, through Scripture, nature, relationships, circumstances, and our very being. As Joan Chittister has written in A Monastery Almanac, “Trinity Sunday proclaims our belief in One God who acts through Jesus and draws us beyond ourselves in the Spirit. It’s not a matter of three Gods. It’s a matter of One burst of the Divine in every dimension of life—creating it, redeeming it, and making it holy.”
We have received some notes of gratitude over the last few weeks because of your generous spirits. First, we hear from Janet Palmer, Executive Director at PROP:
Once again we have made it out of winter and can enjoy the beauty of our area. The season brings cries of “school’s out” from children looking forward to the freedom of the summer months. Unfortunately, in our communities there are parents who are anticipating empty refrigerators and pantries—not picnics and trips to the beach.
Unemployment, medical bills, and other budget stressors know no season. That is where you come in. And you did! Your May donation of $2699.00 (collected on Holy Thursday) and 657 pounds of food will help these caring but thinly-stretched families to provide food for their tables.
As we do year round, we thank you for standing with us to help those of our neighbors who need a hand up. We wish you a great summer!
And we also received a note from Brie Barfknecht, RN, Specialist at Healthy Beginnings,
I just wanted to send you a note to thank you for all of the wonderful donations. Some of them have already gone to my patients who will not be having baby showers of their own and have limited money to purchase things for their baby. I wish you could see the smile on their face when they get these new items. It helps brighten their day a little and lessens the stress of not being prepared for a newborn. Thank you so much!
On the weekend of June 22 and 23, we will bless and say farewell to Fr. Bill, not only at Mass, but after each Mass as we host a reception in his honor. Join us for special refreshments and treats as we share fellowship and well wishes. Saturday evening will be a hosted wine, root beer, and light appetizer reception, on Sunday morning, cake will be served along with the usual morning hospitality treats, and Sunday evening we will have ice cream sundaes.

Fotohaus is back to take photos for our new online pictorial directory. We are currently scheduling for June photo sessions in our outdoor shrine area. ARE YOU A CREATIVE PROJECT MANAGER?
The Holiday Boutique is looking for a chairperson to run this year's event. This shopping extravaganza features a variety of handcrafted items from over 50 quality crafters and artisans, a bake sale, and luncheon held the first Saturday in December. The chairperson’s duties are written in detail and organized with an established execution timeline, well-honed by 13 years of prior events. Come and flex that organization muscle to continue a much-honored holiday tradition. If the task feels too much, ask a friend to co-chair and double the fun! Fare For All is a great way to save money on quality, nutritious food. They buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen meat in bulk which saves up to 40% off grocery store prices. Volunteers at the Fare For All warehouse pre-pack the produce and meat into food packages that range in price from $10 – $25. There is no need to register in advance or fill out any paperwork. SOULCOLLAGE® – OPEN CARD-MAKING
TODAY Tuesday, June 11, 6:00–8:00pm, Room 212 RSVPCome enjoy a relaxing and fun art collage session with others. We make five by eight-inch cards which reflect aspects of our inner selves, our soul's purpose, and the Divine. Once finished with each card, you will journal with it by using the journal sheets and three guided questions. Find out what that card is all about. You may also want to make cards for your deck that honor others, so feel free to bring photos of loved ones, loved places, loved pets, and anyone in the world or heaven who has inspired you. JUSTENGAGEMENT: THE POWER TO CHANGE

Through the lens of the Christian faith, JustEngagement is an eight-week program that invites us to look at different ways to engage in our own grassroots advocacy efforts. In small groups we will discern how our gifts, skills, and passions are best utilized to create social change. This program includes principles in Scripture, reflection on past and present social movements, wisdom from community advocates, tools for successful advocacy, and resources to support justice ministry for the long term as we actively impact social change.
