Its Garage Sale Time

CTK’s Annual Garage Sale is next week, June 20-22. Please sort through your stuff one more time and prepare it to donate.

We will not accept the following: artificial Christmas trees, garden hoses, gas cans, household paint, luggage, microwave ovens, tires, tube-type televisions. One bag of clothes per donor. All donations should be clean and in good working condition. Garage-salers: please price your items if you would like to.

Event Planning Committee

We would like to form a small team (approximately 8) of talented people who like to coordinate/plan events for our parish. Examples would be the upcoming Parish picnic, the next Winter Blast (dinner and dance), and the like. We are looking for people who are talented in organizational skills, decorating, creative and new ideas, energetic, and team oriented. This team would not be doing all the work for the events, but the coordination and the planning, and getting other parishioners involved as necessary in the event as well.

There will be a sign-up sheet at the SE entrance of the church after all Masses. If interested, please write your name on the sheet and you will be contacted with further details.

Blaze, Walking with Purpose Ministry

for 7th & 8th Grade Girls

The mission of Blaze is to use Scripture to speak truth into the hearts of young girls who are bombarded by lies about their true worth and beauty. We will have an informational meeting on JUNE 23rd at 3pm, in Charity Hall basement. Anyone who wishes to learn more on the program please attend! Adjusted Mass Schedule

Since our parish will no longer have a parochial vicar (assistant priest), we will no longer have 6:00 p.m. Mass on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Moreover, we will only have Saturday morning Mass on the first Saturday of the month, which will take place at 9:00 a.m.

The Blessed Sacrament Will Remain Exposed for Adoration on July 4th.

If you are a scheduled Adorer on Thursdays and are not going to be available for your hour, make arrangements NOW for someone to take your scheduled hour.

Excellent Turnout for Blood Drive

We had 40 donors, collected 36 pints, and 7 first time donors. The Red Cross said our parishioners had the potential of saving 180 lives from last year’s donations.

Christ the King received the Premier Award for having an average last year of 35 pints per drive and over 60 pints in a year period

Mary Jo Evans and her son, Luke, were among the first time donors.

Priest in Residence

Effective June 18, Father Andy Bergkamp will be in residence at Christ the King. He will be assigned as associate chaplain at Bishop Carroll and parochial vicar (assistant) at St. Joseph parish down the street. He will only be in residence at the rectory with no duties at our parish.

Please tell him hello when you see him and make him feel welcome.
