Understanding the Most Holy Trinity
An artist will tell you... he put the whole of himself into that poem, that picture. The image which exists in his mind, the thing which he is trying to utter, to externalize, on paper or on canvas or on the piano, is in a certain sense "the expression of his being." Which may help us to understand what Saint Paul means when he tells us that the divine Word is related to the Eternal Father as "the full expression of his being." The artist, if he is a true artist, would have liked to do better; he has not, after all, put the whole of himself into his masterpiece. But God is the perfect artist, and the masterpiece of his activity cannot be something less than himself. He utters his Eternal Word it does not pass outside himself- God had the Word abiding with him.The artist loves his own work with a kind of parental affection; so much of himself has gone into it. Three separate facts- the author of the work, the work itself, the love of the author for his work. The work, a lifeless thing, cannot love in return. But the Expression of the divine artist's thought is as personal as himself, and the Love that passes between them is therefore mutual. And this Love itself is personal too; so Christian theology assures us.

Farewell Receptions for Monsignor Golden

Mystics of the Church

Reflections will meet again this Sunday, June 16 at 10:00am in Monsignor’s Office on the 3rd floor of the Parish Office. We will be discussing Ignatius of Loyola, certainly one of the greatest mystics and churchmen in history.
The smiling faces say it all. The Holy Spirit was with us on Pentecost Sunday as ten Cathedral youth were Confirmed. Nine additional parishes were present and 88 youth total were Confirmed! Congratulations Confirmandi and families!
Support the VBS school supply drive for our Haiti Parish School!
We will do a parish-wide collection for school supplies starting July 6th for our Haiti Parish school. Our representatives will deliver the school supplies on their next trip. You don’t have to attend VBS to support this great cause! Look for our collection box in the back of the church and the parish hall and donate one or more of these items. Thank you for your support!

Our meeting time is changing next year to 10:05 to 10:55 (in between the 9 and 11 am Masses) We will have a floating classroom which will primarily meet in the Parish Hall. When the Parish Hall is occupied we might need to head over to Starbucks to meet. It will be our cross to bear :)! The recent news about clergy sexual abuse and coverup by some Church leaders has left many of the faithful angry and shaken in their relationship with the Church. Amidst the other difficulties the situation presents, how do begin the heal?
RENEW International has created “Healing Our Church,” which is six sessions of small group discussions that provides a path for working through the immediate issues. These sessions have been created to discuss topics that can help the lay faithful begin the healing process and move forward as a family of faith.

R.C.I.A. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is a process of conversion and spiritual formation for individuals who are interested in living the Christian life in the Catholic tradition. It is a time of prayer, study, reflection, faith sharing, ongoing discernment and participation in parish life.
Where do I begin?
Anyone who is interested in exploring the Catholic faith is welcome to come to one of the scheduled Inquiry Sessions, where individuals may ask questions and gather information.
Is the RCIA process like taking a course?
No. The RCIA process of faith formation, catechesis (teaching of the faith), and spiritual growth. While reading/resources will be suggested and recommended there are no requirements like one might have when taking a formal class.
What if I have to miss some Tuesday sessions because of family, work, school, or travel commitments?
No worries. We understand these conflicts. We will make sure that you receive missed handouts and that one of the facilitators can be available to you to answer questions and talk to you about the session you missed. Your sponsor will also be a resource for you.

This is a wonderful ministry whereby you will meet some of the nicest and most grateful people imaginable. The time commitment is minimal but the reward is everlasting!

Looking for a new way to help your parish family? Want to secure an EXCELLENT parking spot before Mass? We are looking for volunteers to staff the Gift Shop before and after the 9:00am and 5:15pm Sunday Masses. We can schedule one Sunday or more as your schedule allows. This would involve arriving 30 minutes before Mass and staying for 30 minutes after Mass.
