Hello everyone! I hope you have been enjoying your summer.
I just have a "few" updates/reminders about Back to School (which is only 29 days away!!)
First, all are welcome to join us for the blessing of the new school following Mass on Sunday, August 4th. Mass has been moved to 10:00am and the blessing will follow, about 11:30am. After, everyone is welcome to take a self-guided tour and stay for lunch.
Back-to-School night is Monday, August 5th from 6:30 - 8:00pm and will begin in the Church and move to the school. All required forms are on the website. They are all fillable and can be printed or saved and emailed to the school office. More details about what is needed will be sent out in a few weeks.
The school supply list is on the St. Nicholas School website on the front page. No paper copies will be sent home.
Some personnel items --
Mrs. Rebecca Hardebeck will be teaching music. She has a BA in music education and taught for several years at an elementary school before staying home with her children. She and her family are parishioners at St. Louis in Batesville.
Mrs. Jeannie Rennekamp is coming back to teach art. Mrs. Elizabeth Sharp, parent of a kindergarten student, will be the art room assistant.
Mrs. Leslie Baker will be teaching 5th grade (was announced before school ended).
We are still in desperate need of a volunteer Athletic Director. The school office will give you tons of support, but we need someone to organize games, schedule refs, stock concessions, coordinate volunteers and ensure all games are supervised by someone (not necessarily the AD). If you are willing to help in any way, please let me know. This can definitely be a team effort if two or more people want to form a committee to serve as AD. We want our athletic program to grow and need a guiding hand(s) to make that happen. Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration.
The school office is open in the Parish Center M - W from 9 - 1 and other days by appointment if you have any questions or need help, feel free to stop in.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and stay safe.
Mrs. Kirschner
