Marian Mantle Prayer Group
We pray for lost sheep and prodigals to come back to the church. We are in the process of forming a group at Christ the King Church. For more information, call Ralph Ponce at 316-550-1571. He will be available after all Masses on July 27-28.
Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 16700 will conduct the Installation of Newly Elected Officers for the New Fraternal Year on Wednesday, July 24th in Charity Hall. A social hour will begin at 6:00 pm and dinner will be served around 6:30 with the Installation of Council Officers following. The families of Council members, and prospective members are invited. The meat entre will be provided by the council and members with last names beginning with A-M are asked to bring a side dish, members with last names beginning with N-Z are asked to bring a desert.
The Sacrament of Confirmation
"Confirmation, which "conforms" faith is necessary to complete the baptismal grace, the gift of divine life that God intends for every human person. Specifically, the effect of Confirmation is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This special outpouring of the Holy Spirit imparts an indelible spiritual mark (character). In other words, the effect of Confirmation, like Baptism, can never be erased from one's soul. The newly confirmed are forever sealed with the Holy Spirit. For this reason, Confirmation may never be repeated. The divine seal of the Holy Spirit marks those who totally belong, to Christ, who exercise the authority of Christ and are promised his divine protection.
The special outpouring of the Holy Spirit not only completes the baptismal grace but also brings about a closer union with Christ. Through this deeper union, those confirmed share more perfectly in God's life as his children and are more perfectly united with the entire family of God, the Church. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are increased in Confirmation and through them we receive the power to "be not afraid" so that we can spread and defend the Christian faith."
