CHAPTER FOUR: SIGNS OF HOLINESS IN TODAY'S WORLD
133. We need the Spirit’s prompting, lest we be paralyzed by fear and excessive caution, lest we grow used to keeping within safe bounds. Let us remember that closed spaces grow musty and unhealthy. When the Apostles were tempted to let themselves be crippled by danger and threats, they joined in prayer to implore parrhesía: “And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness” (Acts4:29). As a result, “when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness” (Acts4:31).
Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization
; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God's saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love.
Prayer is the lifting up of the mind and heart to God.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) - begins in mid-August
RCIA is the process through which adults come into the Church. It is a restoration of an ancient process for incorporation unbaptized persons into Jesus Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
The process is designed for:
1. those who are unbaptized,
2. those who are baptized but uncatechized, and
3. those seeking full Communion with the Church.
Just asking a non-Catholic person if they have ever considered taking part in RCIA can lead them on a journey into full communion with the Church. Please consider asking your non-Catholic friends and family to consider participating in this process. If you would like further information, please call the church office at 812-425-3369.

In the sacrament of Christian initiation we are freed from the power of darkness and joined to Christ's death, burial and resurrection. We receive the Spirit of filial adoption and are part of the entire people of God in the celebration of the memorial of the Lord's death and resurrection.

St. Ben’s Annual Yard Sale - July 19 & 20 and July 26 & 27 from 7AM-3PM
Items will be accepted from 11 AM to 2 PM on June 23 and 30, July 7, 14, and 21.
Please use Door 10 on the SE Corner of the building for drop offs. We need clothing from infant to 8th grade as well as furniture and household items. Religious Education, First Communion, & Confirmation Registration - August 11th and 18th after the morning Masses. A copy of the child's baptismal certificate is required for registration.

The renovation of our Cathedral has begun. The pews are being removed. During the renovation, the parish will be using chairs. In accordance with the law of the Church and after consultation with Bishop Siegel, we will not be kneeling during Mass until the new pews and kneelers have been installed.
