Dear Church Family,
First, apologies for being one day late on the update. But, it was for good reason, and it centers around our school, KSCS. The good news is we are consistently moving forwrd on this project, and it is coming together nicely. We are closing in on spending all of the cash-on-hand presently, and I would ask you to prayerfully consider what God may be impressing you to give for the first time, or again, if you have already.
At this moment we have raised $55,000 cash (praise God for the gifts!), with another $21,500 in pledges to be paid out over the next 12 months. With the school year starting in 32 days from now, and much to be done in order to be ready, the availability of cash-in-hand is the most pressing. We need to finish the renovation of the school building and classrooms, purchase the new furniture for each classrooms (which will be much more conducive to the multi-grade learning environment), complete the installation of playground equipment and fencing, complete our technology purchases of iMac stations, smart-boards, and the remaining iPads for every student, and complete the setup and implementation of the Apple in the Classroom program for our students.
As we sit presently, to accomplish all of the items above, and to be ready for the open house on August 11, and school to begin August 21st, we need another $50,000. This breaks down to the original goal of $10,000 for furniture, $20,000 for technology, and another $20,000 for completion of renovations of all classrooms and library, and the playground placement and fencing. This will complete the current phase fo the school, with the breezeway connecting both buildings to be completed after the church is renovated later this fall.
How is God speaking to you? We so appreciate ALL the gifts given thus far for our capital campaign, whether large or small. I know each gift has been from a heart committed to our students, and given in response to God's prompting. I would ask for each person to ask how God might be leading us to give towards the $50,000 needed immediately in order to have the school ready for the new school year.
We already have 27 students committed for the coming year, and more prospects! Our goal is 45 students when we begin the school year. Our completed building renovation will be one of the draws for prospective students, and when each student walks into their classroom for the first time, they will be amazed! Thanks for being a part of this experience for our students, and the success of KSCS long-term.

KSCS Multi-Grade Classroom Update:
At our last school board meeting we voted to restructure our classrooms for maximum effectiveness under the multi-grade setting. This year we will have three classrooms, as before, but they will be set as Pre-K-K, 1st-4th, and 5th-8th. This will help our students learn better, and the teachers to be effective with their curriculum. Our hope is that next year we can go to four classrooms, and four teachers. But to do so next year, we need to make adjustments this year, and draw more students. We believe this change in the classroom structure will be more appealing to parents and students.

Prayer matters! I encourage you to come be a part of the Prayer Circles on Sabbath morning, 9:30A. Prayer DOES make a difference, in the lives of each of us, and the congregation as a whole... I also ask you to add one special request to your daily prayer list; 45 students in our school this coming year. Pray for our school to be a viable option to families and students in other churches, and our community. Sandra, our teachers, and board members, are actively working, by faith, to recruit more students. Please pray the Holy Spirit makes the connections, and we begin on August 21st with 45 young people sitting at their new tables, in their new classrooms, ready to learn, and the ministry opportunities each student represents.

In our July church board meeting we voted to use the next ten months of rental income or church renovations, which are cosmetic throughout the building, and a new front entrance which looks more inviting and appealing. This will be accrued at $3,000 per month, and a total of $30,000 available by June of next year. However, we still need to have more funds available, and if you would like to designate your offering, above tithe and church budget, to the church renovation, please mark your tithe envelope "Church Renovation", insuring your gift is applied correctly. Our hope is to complete the internal renovations by Christmas, and then connect the two buildings together soon thereafter.
We are still giving consideration to a loan modification, if needed, for the necessary funds to finish the renovation of the church, but we also believe there are many within our congregation who would like the opportunity to share a gift as well.

Have a great rest-of-the-week, and see you Sabbath!
