“Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9) Jesus assures us that if we ask, God will take care of what we need. The problem is that our culture often confuses what we really need with what we simply want. Many people need very little. However, we usually want so much more. A good steward only asks God for what he needs.

Have you been feeling hurt, angry, or demoralized about the sexual abuse crisis plaguing the Catholic Church? We are all very well aware of the horrific sexual abuse crisis that has haunted our Church, especially this past year. We all grieve the wicked ways that priests have abused children, seminarians, and other vulnerable people. With these scandals in mind, our parish has decided to share with you a new book by Bishop Robert Barron. The book is titled Letter to a Suffering Church: A Bishop Speaks on the Sexual Abuse Crisis. A free copy of the book for everyone in the parish is available this weekend, and we hope that you will find it helpful. Bishop Barron provides clear insight on the crisis and where we should go from here. He helps to answer the question: Why stay Catholic with so much scandal? Please take one home for your household this weekend.
