Welcome Reverend Damian McElroy!
As of July 1, 2019 Rev. Damian McElroy is officially Pastor of
St. Catharine- St. Margaret Parish as appointed by Bishop O’Connell.

Dear Parishioners,
I was watching an old movie the other day that might be familiar to you, “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.
If you remember the story, Indiana and his father are in search of the Holy Grail: the cup that Jesus used in the last supper. Legend had it that if anyone would drink from this Holy Grail, this cup, then they would live forever!
The story comes to a climax when they arrive at this wonderful temple. To get even close to the Holy Grail there is a series of booby traps which are quite lethal. Indiana does make it, as do the Nazis he’s trying to outsmart!
The cup is found, it does bring eternal life …But here’s the kicker …It can never cross a certain line, it can never be removed from the temple, it can never be brought into the world!
I enjoy the movie every time I see it...But I also think it’s the exact opposite of the truth.
The truth is that eternal life comes not from the cup used at the last supper but from the Person who held the cup… Christ our Savior and He promises to be present in every cup we share at the Eucharist, at Mass.
There are no booby traps as you come to church, there are no secrets to be discovered but only the simple invitation of Christ to come to His Supper.
And having shared his Body and Blood, there is no sacred line we cannot cross, indeed we are asked to bring his love and his Life giving presence to the world.

Eucharistic Adoration
St. Catharine- St. Margaret Parish is honored to have this powerful devotion in
St. Catharine Chapel every Wednesday from 8:30AM to 4:00PM
The Priest or Deacon removes the sacred host from the tabernacle and places it on the altar for adoration. During this time parishioners may come at any time (for any length of time) to pray or meditate in the presence of our Lord.
At 4PM, Adoration concludes and Benediction takes place and the Host is placed back into the tabernacle. Because we believe in the living presence of Jesus in the consecrated Host, the Blessed Sacrament should not be left unattended at any time. We ask that worshipers sign in while visiting the Blessed Sacrament so we are able to monitor the number of people in attendance and so that we know whether the Blessed Sacrament was left alone. Please feel free to use the booklets provided to guide your prayer and meditation if you need it
