HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL!
My prayer this morning was that all of the children would be safe in their travels to and from school, that they would be excited for their fresh new academic slates and open to the new experiences that lie ahead for them! 

I also pray that as you begin the routines of a new year you will be sure to include their spiritual well-being. Pray grace at the family dinner table; practice the Sign of the Cross and an Our Father at bedtime. And on the weekend, don't forget Mass! St. Mike offers five masses every weekend: Sat 5:00PM | Sun 7:45AM | Sun 9:15AM | Sun 11:15AM | Sun 5:00PM.

FAITH FORMATION UPDATE
We have been busy here preparing for the new faith formation year. During this time of year I especially count on my trust in the Holy Spirit as we find people willing to share their faith with our children. If you, or someone you know has felt the tug of the Holy Spirit, I still have openings for several catechists to finish placing all of the children currently registered.

Sun 12:45PM-2:00PM session needs: 

• first grade catechist
• fourth grade catechist
• fifth grade catechist

Sun 9:15AM Mass needs: 

• a 4 year old preschool team and 
• one partner for kindergarten

Program and session specific emails were sent out last week but I wanted to remind everyone again of the upcoming important dates for our new faith formation year and our parish. Please mark your calendars accordingly and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the phone or email listed at the bottom of this email.

Elementary Catechist Training -
Sunday | Sept 8th | 12:30PM-2:30PM OR Monday | Sept. 9th | 6PM-8PM 
If you have volunteered as a catechist leading the classes for the grades 1-5 classroom program please attend one of the two sessions offered.

Preschool/Kindergarten Parent Orientation -
Sunday | Sept. 15th | 10:30AM-11:10AM | Room 205
If you have a child enrolled in the preschool or kindergarten classroom faith formation program, please have an adult attend this meeting.

Preschool/Kindergarten Catechist Training - 
Sunday | Sept. 15th | 12:30PM-2:30PM | Room 205
If you have volunteered as a catechists leading the preschool and kindergarten faith formation classes, please attend this session.

At-Home Parent Meeting/Training - 
Sunday | Sept. 15th | 6:00PM-7:30PM | Room 205
If you have a child registered for the K-8 At-Home program, this session will provide you with all the details needed to successfully participate. This meeting is for parents, children do not need to attend.

Elementary Classroom Sessions Begin - 
First Class/Opening Prayer and PARENT MEETING for all parents with children registered for the grades 1-5 classroom programs. Children can be dropped to their classroom before parents get seated in the Parish Hall.
Sunday | Sept. 22nd | for families registered for the 12:45PM-2:00PM session
Monday | Sept. 23rd | for families registered for the 4:15PM-5:30PM and
6:00PM-7:15PM session

Please note elementary faith formation will meet on Sept. 30th which is a Henrico County Public School half day.

Preschool/Kindergarten Classroom Sessions Begin -
Sunday | Sept. 29th | for children registered for the 9:15AM or 11:15AM Mass
