The Atlantic Chamber Ensemble
October 11, 2019 | 7:30pm
The Atlantic Chamber Ensemble is a dynamic group of young professional musicians comprised of members of the Richmond Symphony and faculty members at institutions such as Virginia Commonwealth University, the College of William and Mary, and the University of Richmond. With a unique combination of strings, winds, and piano, the ensemble presents a great variety of musical styles for forces both large and small, with a firm commitment to programming works seldom heard due to their usual instrumentations. The Cathedral program will include Osvaldo Golijov’s “Tenebrae” (violins, viola, and cello), Oscar Navarro’s “Creation” (piano, clarinet, violin and cello) and Michael Gandolfi’s “Plain Song, Fantastic Dances” (violin, viola, cello, bass, clarinet, bassoon and horn).
